Dezember-Ausstellung: Überblick
December 5 2010 - January 16 2011
The Künstlergruppe Winterthur is a local artists group that comprises about 60 members of all ages and style. Since its foundation in 1916 they organise an annual show that has become an acknowledged and estimated part of the city's cultural life. Due to major renovation work at Kunstmuseum Winterthur, the traditional venue for the show, the annual show has become homeless; but the artists decided to organise this important event themselves. For the first time there was a public announcement that invited all local artists to hand in their project. The selection as well as the installation was made by Kathleen Bühler, curator of contemporary art at Kunstmuseum Bern. The show is split up into three different venues; Oxyd artspace, Atelier Alexander and the Kunsthalle. At Kunsthalle works by Samuel Furrer, Marcel Gähler, Rebekka Gnädinger, Oliver Krähenbühl, Pascal Lampert, Valentin Magaro, Simone Monstein, Lydia Wilhelm and Beat Wipf are on display.
